Man killed by excavation truck in Caledon workplace incident

One man is dead after being struck by a heavy excavation truck at a worksite in Caledon this week.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday (June 1), members of the Caledon OPP were called to a worksite on Abbotside Way near Kennedy Road in Caledon for reports of an unresponsive male.
Police say an initial investigation revealed that the man was hit by a heavy excavation truck.
The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour and the Federal Department of Labour have been notified and will be investigating the incident.
Police said the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and OPP Forensic Identification Unit have also been called in to assist with the investigation.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by police to allow for the family of the victim to be notificated.
