Multiple violent sexual assault offender has been arrested in southern Ontario

A man faces charges in connection to violent sexual assaults in southern Ontario.

According to a report from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment, yesterday (Oct. 23) multiple officers executed a search warrant on a residence in the Town of Midland just north of Barrie.

Led by the regional Major Crimes Unit, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Canine Unit and the local Emergency Response Team, officers arrested a suspect within the residence tied to multiple criminal investigations in the Midland area dating back to Sept. 17, 2024.

32-year-old Michael Keith L’enfant of Midland was arrested with the following:

  • Two counts of sexual assault
  • Three counts of sexual assault with a weapon
  • Two counts of administration of a noxious substance
  • Communication for the purposes of obtaining sexual services
  • Overcoming resistance
  • Four counts for failure to comply

OPP officials have indicated that no further updates on the arrest will be made, as it is now in the hands of the court system.

L’enfant currently remains in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing and is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
