Man dies after being stabbed in Brampton

A man has died after being stabbed this afternoon in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police said in a social media post that officers responded to reports of a possible stabbing near Chadwick Street and Lockwood Road in the city’s southwest around 3:40 p.m.
Police say that upon arrival, they found a man critically injured, who died shortly after. Officials did not specify whether he died at the scene or in hospital.
The victim’s identity including his age and place of residence, have not been released to the public.
There is currently a heightened police presence in the area, and no suspect information is available at this time.
Earlier in the day, around 2 p.m., police were called to a shooting near Inder Heights Drive and Mayfield Road, located in northeast Brampton. A man suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to hospital in serious condition. Suspects fled the area before officers arrived and police have not provided any updates.
The two incidents occurred approximately 20 minutes apart by car. Authorities have not confirmed if the incidents are connected or isolated. Both investigations remain active, with police urging residents to avoid the affected areas.
