Man Charged in Relation to Attempted Murder Case in Brampton

Officers from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged a Toronto man in related to an attempted murder case in Brampton.
According to police, on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at approximately 3:30 pm, the victim, a 41-year-old man from Brampton was present in a parking lot in the area of The Gore Road and Ebenezer Road in Brampton for a motorcycle club gathering.
An altercation occurred between the man and another man causing the victim to suffer a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a Toronto trauma centre where his injuries were confirmed as life-altering.
On Wednesday, August 28, Andre Martin, 34, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with Attempt Murder.
On the same day at approximately 8:30 pm a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of Lansdowne Avenue and Dundas Street West in Toronto. The search resulted in locating a loaded firearm with ammunition.
Martin was also charged with:
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose
He appeared in a court in Brampton on Thursday, August 29, for a bail hearing.
