A man charged for kidnapping and killing a 16-year-old Brampton teenager in Milton last year is one of two men charged in what police say appears to be a targeted shooting in Coquitlam, B.C.
Ahmed Ismail, 24, who is wanted in Ontario for the kidnapping and first-degree murder of a teenage boy last summer in Milton, and Liban Hassan, 35, each face one count of attempted murder in the shooting of Mir Aali Hussain.
Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said Hussain, 42, was gunned down last October when he and his young children where leaving a Vancouver pub called Bells and Whistles.
Hussain was carrying an infant at the time of the shooting.
Hussain, police say, was pronounced dead at the scene and was found around 5:30 p.m. beside his white 2020 Toyota Highlander with gunshot wounds in an alley off of Hart Street and Henderson Avenue.
Police say both suspects tried to flee in car but ended up hitting a parked vehicle. They got out and ran, but were caught and arrested by police.
Both Ismail and Hassan are due back in Vancouver Provincial Court on May 31.
Ismail, of Toronto, was arrested in the shooting death of Ezekiel Agyemang. The Brampton teen’s body was discovered in the area of Guelph Line and No. 10 Side Rd. in Milton on June 30, 2020.
Ismail, who is one of four men charged in the murder of the teen, was arrested in Vancouver on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020.
