home invasion suspect charged and other robberies in Mississauga and Brampton

A man has been charged with a series of violent incidents including an armed home invasion and two separate robberies in Mississauga and Brampton.

Peel Regional Police say the first incident happened on Nov. 25 (2023), where the suspect and three other individuals allegedly forced entry into a home near Sandalwood Parkway and McLaughlin Road in Brampton.

Once inside, the intruders made demands for money and other property.

A gunshot was fired by one of the suspects and a victim was struck and assaulted with the firearm and sustained injuries that required medical attention. The suspects then made off with the stolen property, police say.

Investigators report that one of the suspects was linked to further incidents in Mississauga and Brampton on two separate occasions.

On January 23, 2024, the suspect reportedly assaulted a victim while they were seated in their car in a parking lot near Mavis Road and Dundas Street in Mississauga.

The suspect approached the victim and demanded money.

During the robbery, the victim was struck on the head with a gun as the suspect searched through the vehicle, stealing valuables and vehicle keys. The suspect then fled on foot, leaving the victim with minor physical injuries.

A couple of months later, on March 6, near McLaughlin Road and Ray Lawson Boulevard in Brampton, two victims organized a meeting with the suspect which turned violent.

Police say, the suspect was wielding a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle.

During the confrontation, one victim was struck in the head with the gun, resulting in minor injuries. The assailant then fled on foot, failing to take the vehicle or any other property.

On Wednesday (April 10), authorities arrested a suspect in Brampton in connection to the three robberies and he was also found in possession of a loaded 9mm firearm, along with ammunition.

Tyrese Williams, 24, of Brampton, faces multiple criminal charges including three counts of wearing a disguise, two counts of robbery, two counts of using an imitation firearm and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

Williams was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 11.

At the time of his arrest, Williams was found to be in violation of a weapons ban due to previous robbery convictions that strictly prohibited him from possessing any weapons, according to police.

Additionally, two other suspects, Jessiah Farrell and Kashaun Grenier were charged in relation to the home invasion that took place last November.

Officials say the investigation remains ongoing and police believe more charges could be laid.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact investigators with the Central Robbery Bureau at (905)453-2121 ext. 3410.
