Man arrested in Alberta in connection with 2020 murder of Brampton woman

A second arrest has been made in connection with the 2020 shooting of a Brampton woman.

In August of last summer, 56-year-old Sangita Sharma was found suffering from a gunshot wound on Treeline Blvd. in Brampton. She did not survive.

On Wednesday, June 23, a suspect was located in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

With the assistance of Wood Buffalo RCMP, Malik Essue, a 23-year-old man from London, was arrested for First Degree Murder. Malik Essue will be brought back to Peel Region to face charges.

Fiseha Girmay Habtegabir, a 19-year-old man from London, is already facing murder charges.
