Several major roads in Halton Hills and Milton have been closed due to flooding.

According to Halton police, “multiple roads, streets and intersections have flooded due to heavy rains. Emergency crews are out attending to these areas, looking to reopen roadways as soon as possible.

“As some of these areas can be unsafe until waters recede please refrain from travel until weather conditions have improved.”

Due to continued flooding, the following roads have been closed to traffic:

  • Ninth Line, between 5 and 10 Side Road
  • Fifth Line between 5 Side Road and Steeles Avenue
  • Eighth Line between Derry and Britannia roads
  • Sixth Line between Britannia Road and Steeles Avenue
  • Steeles Avenue between Hornby Road and Fifth Line
  • Sixth Line between Steeles Avenue and 5 Side Road

Police said barricades are being erected until water subsides and roads can be deemed safe to reopen.
