Hydro lines down on Hurontario in Mississauga.

UPDATE: Peel Regional Police said all affected lanes on Hurontario Street, north of Highway 403, have been reopened to traffic as of about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A section of one of the busiest roads in Mississauga — just north of Square One — has been shut down to traffic due to fallen hydro lines.

Peel Regional Police said in a post to social media early Wednesday afternoon the downed hydro lines have closed northbound and southbound lanes of Hurontario Street between Kingsbridge Garden Circle and the Highway 403 exit ramps.

The lines reportedly came down right around the noon hour.

Police estimate the lanes will be closed for the next two to four hours and urge motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
