It looks like Brampton is a lucky city!

Brampton resident Samantha Geib is celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize with Poker Lotto.

“I won $100,000 with Poker Lotto on the nightly draw,” Geib told OLG at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “On my way to an appointment, I stopped at the store to check my ticket. I used the ticket checker. At first I thought I won $10,000. When I scanned the ticket again I saw the extra zero. I kept thinking, ‘This must be a glitch!’”

Geib told OLG that she has a big purchase in mind.

“I thought to myself, ‘I’m going to buy a house.’ The retailer than validated my ticket and the terminal froze and I said, ‘Oh my Gosh, this is real!’”

Next, Geib shared the good news with her boyfriend.

“He didn’t believe me at first and decided to come home to see for himself.”

The win is extra exciting considering the fact that Geib was looking to house hunt.

“This win gives us more options. I will also be putting some money aside for my daughter’s education. I haven’t been on a plane since I was six years old so I think a warm destination like Mexico or Puerto Rico would be nice. I can’t wait to see what the future holds. My win makes life a little easier now.”

Poker Lotto is a lottery game that offers both instant in-store wins – of up to $5,000 – and nightly prize draws of up to $100,000 with each $2 ticket and uses playing card symbols rather than numbers.

The winning ticket was purchased at One Stop Supermarket on George Street in Brampton.
