A Brampton father is dreaming of how to spend a $88,000 payday, but says his family comes first after a massive lottery win.

Nana Kyeame has been a regular Pools player for more than a decade, betting on sporting events through the OLG.

The 51-year-old was watching a Monday night game and lucked out picking the winning team, but had to wait to check his prize.

“The next morning, I woke up and checked my ticket. I was happy and overwhelmed to learn I won $88,000. My head was in the clouds, but I kept my win to myself,” he said while picking up his winnings at the OLG prize centre in Toronto.

Kyeame total prize came to a total of $88,967.40.

“My family comes first with this win,” Kyeame said, adding he plans to go on a vacation and share the win with his kids.

“Just the thought of depositing that cheque in my bank makes me smile,” he said.

Pools lets you bet on sports with no odds or spreads, with each $5 wager allows you to pick your sport and Card number and select who you think will win each matchup.

The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Goreway Drive in Brampton.
