A Mississauga resident’s lottery win claim has been delayed due to “insider win” policies.

Riaaz Razak of Mississauga has a winning ticket for the $10,000 from the Instant the Big Spin game, according to a press release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

However, as Razak’s mother-in-law works for an authorized OLG retailer, this claim falls within OLG’s definition of an insider win, OLG said.

Claims of $10,000 or more made by insiders require enhanced review and validation as well as a 30-day publication period before payment to ensure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket, the press release states.

The prize will be paid to the claimant on March 29, 2024, pending no additional claims before that date.

The ticket was purchased at Shell Gas Station on Unity Drive in Mississauga.
