Lots of rain in Mississauga and Brampton this week as temperatures increase

A hot and humid week is expected for Mississauga and Brampton residents as the humidex hits 34 degrees Celsius and the chance of showers persists.

There will be a mix of sun and cloud for the remainder of today with increasing cloudiness as evening falls. A chance of a thunderstorm is possible overnight with a low of 19 degrees Celsius.

Monday (July 18) will stay mainly cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of showers in the morning. The showers may become a thunderstorm as the high hits 27 degrees Celsius, feeling like 34 with the humidex.

The temperature will reach a low of only 20 degrees Celsius Monday night.

A mix of sun and cloud continues on Tuesday (July 19) with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 31.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says significant heat is expected on Tuesday with portions of southern Ontario, including Mississauga and Brampton, at risk for heat related illness.

The threat is considered moderate on a scale of Minor, Moderate, High, and Extreme.

Even more rain is expected for Wednesday and Thursday with the skies remaining cloudy and a high chance of showers. A heat criteria warning may be reached on Wednesday as well.

Friday (July 22) brings back a small amount of sun with the temperature staying high at 30 degrees Celsius.

ECCC records a normal average high for this time of year to be 27 degrees Celsius.
