Loaded pistol found during a routine patrol in Brampton, one man charged

A Brampton man faces multiple firearm charges after police found a loaded pistol during a routine patrol.

Officers were on a proactive patrol in the area of Dixie Road and Queen Street in Brampton around 4 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 13) when they stopped a vehicle, Peel Regional Police said.

Police found and seized a loaded 45 Caliber Ruger Pistol.

Mustafa Qadri, 20, from Brampton, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Tampering with serial number of firearm
  • Fail to comply with a release order
  • Possession of firearm contrary to order

Mustafa Qadri was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

This was the second firearm case reported on the same day in Brampton. Three men were charged on Oct. 13 after two loaded firearms were found in a traffic stop.
