Loaded guns, fentanyl and cocaine seized in Brampton and GTA

A Brampton man and Toronto woman face charges after searches turned up firearms and drugs.
Officers seized two loaded firearms, ammunition, fentanyl, cocaine, and other opioids on Feb. 20, Peel Regional Police said in a press release today.
The searches were Brampton and Etobicoke, a Peel Regional Police spokesperson told insauga.com.
The search warrants were issued after a lengthy investigation concerning ongoing drug and firearm offences in Peel Region.
A man from Brampton, Lamar Boreland, was charged with two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, two counts of careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, possession of property obtained by crime, four counts of possession of firearm contrary to release order, and four counts of drug-related offences for the purpose of trafficking.
A woman from Toronto, Lanique Brown, was charged with two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, two counts of careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, and three counts of drug-related offences for the purpose of trafficking.
Boreland and Brown were held for bail hearings.
