Loaded gun found on alleged impaired driver following car crash in Georgetown

A loaded gun was found in the car involved in an early morning crash in Georgetown Saturday, Aug. 5.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m., Halton police responded to a single car collision on Guelph St. in Norval in Halton Hills.
A white, Chevrolet Corvette had been driven into a guardrail. When police arrived they investigated the crash as a possible impaired driving incident.
Police said an unloaded handgun, along with a magazine with 16 bullets, was recovered at the scene.
Shahroz Barber, 24, of Brampton has been charged with multiple offences including driving impaired and without a license, and possession of a prohibited restricted firearm/ammunition.
Barber was held for a bail hearing.
