Watch NASA's livestream of today’s solar eclipse

If you want to watch the solar eclipse from the comfort of your home or office, you can do so here!

NASA Live Stream:

The live stream from NASA starts at 1:00 p.m. and runs until 4:00 p.m. Footage will be taken with telescopes in Torreon, Mexico and Junction, Texas.

Today (April 8), a total solar eclipse is set to fall over Ontario and parts of eastern and central Canada, bringing a short period of darkness during the afternoon. The event has been making headlines for weeks, with some school boards closing down for safety reasons (looking directly at the sun anytime can lead to vision changes and even complete blindness).

Eclipse glasses, which make it safe to view the entire event, have been selling out rapidly.

That said, most people are thrilled about the rare celestial event in which the sun goes directly behind the moon. The eclipse will first cross through southwestern Ontario around 3:15 p.m. and move east through Quebec and Atlantic Canada before exiting Newfoundland at around 3:45 p.m.

Some parts of Ontario are on the path of totality, including the Niagara region. Residents should expect traffic jams, road closures, and huge crowds, which may even disrupt cell service.
