Several or more herds of dinosaurs are less than two weeks away from arriving once again in Mississauga for a three-day show for people of all ages.

The collection of prehistoric giants, and some smaller species as well, comes in animatronic form and will take up brief residence at the International Centre in the city’s east end Dec. 8-10.

One of the most popular travelling dinosaur attractions in North America, Jurassic Quest features life-like dinosaurs doing their thing as part of the large, realistic and interactive show.

The event came to Mississauga for the first time last year.

Event organizers say this year’s show is “bigger and better” than before and the “herd of photorealistic dinosaurs is ready to delight families during its one-weekend-only engagement in Mississauga.”

Jurassic Quest organizers say they’re in the midst of their biggest Canadian tour yet and this year’s version of the show brings “more hands-on activities, education and fun for the whole family.”

Included in the experience, they note, are:

  • an expanded herd of life-like moving and roaring dinosaurs
  • themed rides and attractions
  • live dinosaur shows
  • interactive science and art activities including a giant fossil dig, real fossils, a ‘Triceratots’ soft play area for kids, photo opportunities and a new video tour featuring the show’s dinosaur trainers

The Mississauga show opens at noon on Friday, Dec. 8 and continues until Sunday, Dec. 10. Hours are noon to 8 on Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the final day.

The International Centre is located at 6900 Airport Rd.

Organizers suggest getting tickets ahead of time. Tickets/ticket packages range from $22 to $45.

The show will be in Hamilton this coming weekend, from Dec. 1-3.
