The city is looking for trusted and licensed operators to run two city-owned child care centres that are coming to Brampton.

Plans are underway to bring new child care facilities to Brampton, one at the Chris Gibson Recreation Centre at 125 McLaughlin Road and a second at the yet-to-be-built Embleton Community Centre at 200 Lionhead Golf Club Road, the city says in a release.

And while the centres will be owned by the city, Brampton has put out a call for child care providers to run the operations through a Request for Proposal (RFP).

The city says it is looking for qualified, licensed child care providers who are currently enrolled in the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program in Peel or will be enrolling in the program.

The city says increasing access to quality child care will help support parents and promote healthy child development.

“Access to quality child care also plays an important role in the location decisions of families and businesses and is a key factor in helping businesses recruit and retain employees,” the city says in a release.

Candidates must sign and submit the submission form and a non-disclosure agreement by Nov. 20, and interested providers must submit proposals by no later than Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
