Ontario Liberal leader Steven Del Duca promised families $2,750 in childcare savings if his party is elected in June.
Del Duca said he would make childcare savings retroactive to the beginning of this year.
“I can’t believe Ontario is the last province in this country to get a deal done with the federal government to deliver $10-a-day licenced daycare,” said Del Duca at a campaign stop in Oakville.
The potential premier said it’s been more than 230 days since the first province got a deal done with the federal government. And it’s been close to 80 days since the last province got a deal done.
“As so many families are falling further and further behind, no matter how hard they work, it’s unconscionable to me that Doug Ford has put politics ahead of the progress that people so desperately deserve.”
Ontarians head to the polls on June 2.
