Your four-legged friends have a new place to run wild and free with no leash required with the opening of a new dog park north of Brampton.
The new Mayfield West Off-Leash Dog Park opened this week in Caledon and is the town’s third leash-free space for dogs and their humans to enjoy.
With a double-gated entrance and pathways to explore, the new Mayfield off-leash park is fully fenced with a separate area for smaller dogs who may not get along with bigger pooches.
There are also benches and picnic tables for taking a break during your visit and a shade structure with cluster seating to get a break from the heat on sunny days.
“This new leash-free dog park is a testament to our commitment to creating vibrant, inclusive spaces for all of our residents—two-legged and four-legged alike,” said Caledon Mayor Annette Groves in a statement.
Caledon was named one of Canada’s Better Cities for Pets in 2023, a certification awarded to communities committed to creating a pet-friendly environment. The town says opening the new Mayfield West Off-Leash Dog Park “furthers our commitment to creating a welcoming community where all pets can thrive.”
You can visit the new Mayfield West Off-Leash Dog Park at 12227 Kennedy Road, north of Highway 410 South and South of Abbotside Way in Caledon.
