Police conference in Mississauga.

An upcoming police conference in Mississauga will look at new and more effective ways to fight crime and keep communities and cities safer.

Hosted by Peel Regional Police, the three-day gathering of law enforcement officials and other stakeholders from across Canada and the U.S. will involve discussion about “progressive, innovative and inclusive approaches to restoring balance and safety to communities across North America,” organizers said.

The 2024 Safety of Our Cities Conference takes place Sept. 16-18 at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, located at 6750 Mississauga Rd.

The first such conference took place last year in Edmonton.

Peel police conference organizers said the event “will explore the transformation in addressing community safety and well-being.”

It brings together law enforcement agencies with multi-sector stakeholders to “promote collaboration and discuss innovative solutions in addressing root causes of the challenges faced by cities,” police added.
