Roots, rock and blues are on tap for the 2023 version of the Southside Shuffle with three legendary Canadian acts headlining each night of the festival.

Friday, Sept. 8 will see David Wilcox performing on the Brightwater Mainstage at Port Credit Memorial Park followed by Matt Anderson and the Big Bottle Of Joy on Saturday, Sept. 9 and the traditional performance by the Downchild Blues Band on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Also performing during the festival will be Paul James, Jack de Keyzer, Suzie McNeil and the Chain Reaction, Angelique Francis and Keeny Wayne, among dozens of others.

The annual music festival, which takes over Port Credit, will also see parts of Lakeshore Rd. closed on Saturday night as the street shuffle returns with over 20 bands performing and all the shops open to serve the crowd.

As well, all weekend long, festival-goers will be able to shop for merchandise and crafts as well as buy food in the vendor’s village in the park.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Southside Shuffle and founder Chuck Jackson recalls the event has come a long way.

“We started pretty small,” says Jackson who is also the vocalist for Downchild. “Now it’s one of the major events in Mississauga. Everyone has a great time.”

Tickets are now on sale for the mainstage show. You can follow this link to purchase tickets and get a complete rundown of performances.
