If you’re hosting a party or still looking for that perfect (and always appreciated) gift, you might want to know about the LCBO’s holiday hours.
The provincial alcohol giant recently announced that it plans to offer extended shopping hours in the lead-up to Christmas. Now, many LCBO stores will observe longer than usual hours (yay!), but those hours may vary by location, so you might want to call your local shop first.
But first, the shortened hours.
Basically, all LCBO stores will open at regular hours and close at 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve (Saturday, December 24) and on New Year’s Eve (Saturday, December 31).
LCBO stores will be closed on Christmas Day (Sunday, December 25) and Boxing Day (Monday, December 26). LCBO stores will re-open on Tuesday, December 27. LCBO stores will be closed New Year’s Day (Sunday, January 1) and will re-open on Monday, January 2.
While LCBO agency stores must close on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, some locations may choose to operate on Boxing Day.
The LCBO website lists nine locations in Brampton and you can see their locations and hours of operation here.
The LCBO’s Bramalea City Centre location will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The Heart Lake Town Centre location on Sandalwood Pkwy will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Airport and Bovaird location will also be open until 10:00 p.m. during the week, along with the Mavis and Steeles location on Clementine Road.
If you want to see the hours of more stores, you can check for individual store hours online at www.lcbo.com using the ‘Store Search’ feature. You can also contact the toll-free, bilingual helloLCBO Contact Centre at 1-800-ONT-LCBO (668-5226) or online at www.helloLCBO.com.
You should also remember that, should you not be able to make it to the store, you can order booze online through www.lcbo.com. This feature is actually fantastic and lets you shop for alcoholic beverages 24/7. You can have your order delivered to your home or a flat fee of $12, or you can grab your order free of charge at your closest LCBO.
