UPDATE: Large water main break closes major road in Brampton

A water main break closed a major road in Brampton.

A water main broke at Airport Road and Bovaird Drive East around 4:18 a.m. this morning (Dec. 21), Peel Regional Police said on X.

Two southbound lanes on Airport Road, south of Bovaird Drive, were closed for the break.

But police expected all southbound lanes of Airport Road to be closed.

The time to repair the break was unknown.

Police advised drivers to use alternative routes.

Update: At noon today (Dec. 21), police said all southbound lanes of Airport Road were now closed from Bovaird Drive to Triple Crown Drive. The repairs expected to last into the evening.
