A Brampton man has been charged after a “large theft” at a Guelph store earlier this year in which thousands of dollars worth of goods was stolen, police say.
Guelph police said that on Jan. 28, two males entered a business on Woodlawn Road West and one of them left the store with a cart that had six Milwaukee blowers, each valued at $398.
“He then re-entered the store and met up with the second male and together they left with a cart loaded with electrical supplies,” police allege.
All of the goods were then loaded into a white cargo van that was waiting with a third suspect, police said.
Police estimated the total loss to be $8,000.
Staff at the business recognized the two males who entered the store “as they are suspects in a number of thefts across Ontario,” police said.
Both of them are currently on release orders with conditions that they not be together, police added.
On Wednesday, a suspect was arrested by another police service and then returned to Guelph.
A 32-year-old Brampton resident has been charged with theft over $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.
He was held for a bail hearing before being released with a Nov. 22 court date.
A police spokesperson told INsauga.com that two other suspects remain outstanding.
