UPDATE: Man in life-threatening condition after shooting in Brampton; SIU investigating

There’s a large police presence responding to a shooting in Brampton this afternoon (July 1).

At 4:10 p.m., gunshots were heard inside a residential building at Charolais Blvd and McMurchy Ave S.

Injuries and suspect description are unknown at this time.

Police say they’re currently awaiting further information from the scene.

UPDATE (5:10 p.m.): Paramedics are transporting one person to local hospital with currently unknown injuries. Officers remain on scene investigating and are asking witnesses or anyone with information to call police.

UPDATE (6:52 p.m.): Police say there was an interaction between police and an adult male, and the adult male has been taken to local hospital in life-threatening condition.

The SIU has invoked their mandate and will be investigating.
