Bridge work will see part of a major road in Brampton reduced in lanes for months.

The repair and maintenance work will start next week on Queen Street East between Central Park Drive and Bramalea Road, with traffic lanes temporarily reduced.

Construction is set to start on Monday and is expected to last until the end of September, Peel Public Works says.

“The Contractor’s normal working hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday, during which all major works will be completed,” the region says of the project.

Some work may need to be done on weekends, and the region says signs will be placed at the east and west of the construction area to give residents and drivers advance notice.

The region says the rehabilitation project includes repairs of the bridge deck, installation of a new waterproofing system, and a new sidewalk and median.
