The Brampton Excelsiors of the Ontario Jr. B Lacrosse League is holding a fundraiser for the Special Olympics in conjuction with Saturday’s tournament at Memorial Arena.
The event is being held in memory of detective-constable Jeffrey Northrup, a Toronto police officer who was killed in the line of duty last month.
Northrup and his family have been long-time residents of Brampton and he was very involved in both local lacrosse and the Special Olympics.
The Excelsiors are asking anyone who attends the tournament to make a donation to Brampton Special Olympics in Northrup’s honour.
Teams from London, Hamilton and West Durham will be in town for the event.
Detective Constable Jeffrey Northrup was a proud supporter of the Brampton Minor Lacrosse Association and Special Olympics. In lieu of game admission this weekend, we are asking fans for a donation in Jeff’s honour, and in support of the Brampton Special Olympics. pic.twitter.com/pxXh5vqvIn
