Labour Day Brampton: Everything Open and Closed

Labour Day in 2024 in Brampton falls on the first Monday of the month, September 2, 2024

The holiday originally gave workers the chance to campaign for better working conditions and pay, but now it’s part of a long weekend to relax and tends to signal the end of summer.

Here’s what’s open and closed in Brampton for the Labour Day long weekend on Sept. 2.


Open:

  • Bramalea City Centre (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Some smaller grocery stores, such as Rabba grocery stores
  • Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations
  • Most restaurants are open but call ahead to be sure
  • Movie theatres
  • Select recreation facilities
  • Two Beer Store locations (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.):
    • 198 Queen St. E
    • 80 Peel Centre Dr.
  • Brampton Civic Hospital
  • Peel Memorial Centre Urgent Care Centre

Other Major Malls:

  • Toronto Premium Outlets (9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Square One Shopping Centre (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Vaughan Mills (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Eaton Centre (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Pacific Mall (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

Closed:

  • Shoppers World
  • LCBO locations
  • Most Wine Rack locations but call ahead to be sure
  • Banks
  • Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA)

  • Brampton City Hall
  • Libraries (Closed on Sunday, Sept. 1 and on Monday, Sept. 2)

  • Garbage and recycling will be collected one day later

  • Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule
  • Customer Service counters at all terminals, and the Clark and Sandalwood facilities, will be closed
  • GO Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule
  • All TransHelp trips for Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 must be booked by 7 p.m. on Sept. 1.
