Flight operations have mostly returned to normal after a record-breaking rainfall at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.
The airport received 128.3 millimetres of rain on Saturday, beating the previous record set on July 8, 2013 when 126 millimetres fell.
The weekend deluge closed roads around the airport and in other areas of Mississauga.
There is still a chance of rain today and cooler temperatures with a high of 21 C, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. But airport operations are expected to run smoothly on Monday.
“Normal operations have resumed for this morning’s start up,” Pearson said on X.
Porter Airlines, however, is experiencing an IT issue, which is preventing passengers from checking in online, Pearson said.
Passengers should plan to arrive early for Porter flights.
Monday is one of the busiest days for the airport with over 128,000 travellers passing through.
