It may finally be time to put away those winter jackets and pull out the shorts.
Environment Canada is forecasting sunny skies and up to 22 C in Mississauga and Brampton next week.
After freezing rain alerts just about a week ago, and spectacular lightning displays yesterday, it looks like summer-like temperatures are on the way.
The Easter long weekend is looking sunny with seasonal temperatures from 7 or 8 C on Friday and Saturday, getting a bit warmer on Sunday with highs of 13 C.
But the weather really starts to warm up on Tuesday (April 11) — reaching a high of 17 C. Then Wednesday, April 12, the temperature is expected to reach 22 C with sunny skies, according to Environment Canada.
The Weather Network is predicting even higher temperatures for Thursday at 23 C before it starts to cool off again to 15 C.
The average temperature for April 12 is 10 C and the record high for Mississauga was 25.8 C set in 2001, according to the Weather Network. The low was -7.2 C in 1975.
And back in 1934, Mississauga got 12.7 cm of snow on April 12.
