Brampton residents are invited to an information session related to the potential relocation of the University of Guelph-Humber (UofGH) relocating to Flower City.

On Tuesday (November 9), an information session is being held to inform residents about the potential relocation of the UofGH campus to Brampton.

It is scheduled to take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Gore Meadows Community Centre. Harkirat Singh, Regional Councillor for Wards 9 and 10, will be in attendance, as will George Bragues, Vice Provost for UofGH, and Rani Dhaliwal, SVP of Strategy and Senior Partnerships for Humber College.

This past summer, City Council passed a motion to work with the University of Guelph and Humber College regarding relocating of the UofGH’s campus to Brampton’s new downtown Centre for Innovation.

Currently, UofGH offers combined degree-diploma programs, where students earn a Humber diploma and a bachelor’s degree from Guelph over the course of four years.

The move would make commuting easier for many students, as UofGH gets more applicants from Brampton than from any other city in Ontario.
