A man from Brampton faces several charges after he was pulled over for allegedly driving unsafely through Caledon.

OPP officers received a complaint about a car driving near The Gore Rd. and Old Church Rd. shortly before 3 a.m. November 21. The officers pulled the car over and found the driver seemed to be impaired

They arrested the man on sight and conducted a breath test on him at the station.

Navpreet Singh, 20 of Brampton was ultimately charged with impaired driving, impaired driving with blood alcohol content over 80, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to surrender his licence.

That wasn’t the only stop that morning, however. Hours later, around 8 a.m., the OPP got another report of a dangerous driver this time on Airport Rd. The caller found a car parked in a driveway with the driver inside.

Officer went to the house and through speaking with him, figured he was impaired as well. They requested a breath sample and arrested a man.

Opeta Okoto, 33 of East York, was charged with refusal to provide a breath sample.

Both drivers had their cars impounded for a week and their licenses were suspended for 90 days. Both will appear in an Orangeville courtroom in February.
