An impaired driver was arrested after driving on the lawn of an Ontario police station, OPP say.
Ontario Provincial Police said that at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers on patrol were passing the detachment on Highway 12 in Midland “when they observed a full-size pickup truck attempting to negotiate a route from a nearby hotel, across the lawns of the detachment as well as the neighboring car dealership.”
Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who was the only person inside the pickup, police said.
The driver “displayed strong signs of alcohol consumption,” was arrested and brought into the detachment to provide a breath sample, police said.
“The results registered several times above the legal limit,” OPP said.
Parry Sound District resident Bryan Fox, 31, was charged with several Highway Traffic Act offences.
Fox was also criminally charged with operation while impaired and operation over 80 milligrams, before being released with a Nov. 28 court date.
Fox’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven.
