Image released of vehicle believed used in Brampton rideshare sex assault

Police have released this image of a vehicle they believe was used in Brampton sex assualt.

Peel Police have narrowed their search for a man believed to be responsible for a sex assault in Brampton.

According to reports, the suspect was posing as a rideshare driver on Nov. 8 when he picked up an 18-year-old woman and took her to a remote area where the assault occurred.

At the time, the passenger was picked up around just before 8 p.m. at the bus stop at Goreridge Crescent and Via Romano Way and taken to Clareville Conservation on Highway 50 and The Gore Road

Police have now released an image of the car used in the crime.

The vehicle is described as a black four-door Hyundai Elantra.

As well, the man police are looking for is South Asian, medium complexion, black faded hair (short on top), well-kept full black beard, medium to muscular build, average height, approximately 20-25 years old, wearing a blue or black winter jacket and black pants.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact investigators of the Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121, extension 3460. Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Police advise the ridesharing public to verify the vehicle, licence plate, and the identification of the driver.
