Ice pellets and freezing rain expected in Mississauga and Brampton this week

Enjoy the bits of sunshine scattered throughout Sunday (Feb. 26) because last week’s forecast is about to repeat itself.
According to a special weather report, residents in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and other surrounding areas are advised to stay prepared, as more winter conditions are expected to hit as early as Monday afternoon (Feb. 27)
There will be a messy mix of wintry precipitation, as well as strong winds up to 50 km/h with the possibility of ice pellets and freezing rain.
Surfaces left untreated such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
This can be a nightmare for commuters driving or planning to take other transportation services, as the weather may cause delays in travel.
Tuesday on the horizon it looks like it will be a confusing one, weather wise. Meteorologists call for both sun and clouds with a high of 5° C and a 60 percent chance of flurries or rain showers.
Mid week through Friday will follow a similar pattern of storm clouds and rain with a low of -8°C overnight.
As the weekend approaches —shifting us into a new month, the sun will make a return on Saturday Mar. 4 and Sunday Mar. 5 with winds calming down to 12 km/h.
Environment Canada hasn’t issued new weather reports indicating that anymore bad weather is brewing. We all can hope the worst is over and spring will be here sooner than we think.
