410 and Derry crash Mississauga Brampton

Hwy. 410 northbound in Mississauga heading into Brampton has been mostly shut down this afternoon after a four-vehicle crash involving a dump truck.

According to reports from the scene, the dump truck ended up on its side in the ditch after colliding with several vehicles on the busy highway near Derry Rd.

OPP say the truck rolled over and was leaking oil or diesel fuel when they arrived on the scene.

Police say most of the northbound lanes are blocked, with only the HOV lane open to vehicles.

OPP say they expect “there to be extensive closures on the 410 while the investigation and cleanup is going to be ongoing for the next several hours.”

Police urge motorists to avoid the area and say southbound Hwy. 410 traffic will likely be impacted as well.

According to the OPP, two people were taken to hospital with yet-to-be-determined injuries.

It’s not yet known what caused the crash.
