Human trafficking arrest of Mississauga man.

A Mississauga man faces human trafficking, sexual assault and other charges after a woman was allegedly recruited into and then exploited in the sex trade.

Vice unit investigators with Peel Regional Police arrested the man this past Monday, charging him with human trafficking and prostitution-related offences.

Police say their investigation began in June after a woman approached them with a complaint.

She told investigators that a man had “recruited, took control of aspects of a female adult’s life, exploited her in the sex trade and benefitted from it financially,” police said in a news release on Friday.

Roshawn Morgan-Rose, 26, of Mississauga, is charged with:

  • human trafficking
  • sexual assault
  • exercise control
  • receiving benefit resulting from trafficking in persons
  • procuring
  • derive material benefit from sexual services
  • advertisement
  • fail to comply with release order

He was held for a bail hearing in Brampton court.

Police say the accused was out on bail for being in possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle in Peel.

The investigation is ongoing.
