While Celebration Square is frequently the hub of live entertainment in Mississauga, music lovers might be happy to hear that they’ll also be able to check out a live performance in a popular Port Credit park this summer.

The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra recently announced that it will perform a free concert in Port Credit Memorial Park (40 Lakeshore Rd. E.) on Sunday, July 7.

The concert, part of Mississauga’s Summer Concert Series, will feature light classical music, pop songs and well-known movie themes. The concert series itself also kicks off in July and will feature performances at a number of outdoor venues, including Streetsville Village Square and Cooksville Four Corners.

This will be the third time the family-friendly concert has been held, and previous performances have attracted well over 1,000 attendees.

“From John Williams to Camille Saint-Saëns, this rare outdoor performance will feature music for all tastes and age groups,” the MSO said in a news release.

The show will begin at 6:30 p.m., and concertgoers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for extra comfort, as seating will not be provided.
