Last illumi shows in Mississauga until later in 2024

People hoping to attend a popular festival of lights that’s been in Mississauga for just over a year have four more nights to enjoy the attraction before it shuts down for the remainder of the winter.

The Mississauga show, illumi–A Dazzling World of Lights, concludes its second holiday season run in the city this Sunday night (Jan. 7).

Officials with Montreal-based illumi say no additional dates will be added this winter.

The renowned attraction, located on a huge Hurontario Street/Highway 407 site in the city’s north end, is expected to reopen in a few months for another spring/summer run in Mississauga.

The lights festival has attracted some 400,000 visitors during its stay so far in Mississauga, which began in September 2022.

Featuring more than 20 million LED lights, the attraction welcomes people of all ages — and their dogs on a few select nights — to embark on adventures in a series of “universes” that offer different themes to visitors throughout the year.

An illumi spokesperson said earlier that the company is working closely with the City of Mississauga to keep the attraction in town “potentially until 2026-27.”

Scheduled to come to Mississauga on several occasions since late 2021, the illumi festival of lights finally opened in the city on Sept. 14, 2022.

Visit the illumi website for tickets and more information.

Meanwhile, illumi’s Laval, Quebec location is closing permanently on Sunday, having reached the end of its run that began in 2019.
