Cathy Prosje has been identified as the woman found dead in her Smithville home, said Niagara Regional Police on Monday (August 12).

The investigation into the 62-year-old’s homicide continues and police are asking that anyone who may have come in contact with her before her death earlier this year on April 26 to step forward.

Police were called to a home in the area of Lindan Street and Alma Drive and upon their arrival discovered Prosje dead inside the home.

The location of Prosje’s computer is also being sought by police, who believe it may have been discarded, traded, sold, or is at a local pawn shop.

The computer (pictured below) is a Hewlitt Packard Elite Book 840 G9 Notebook, silver with a 14-inch screen. The serial number is 5CG3106K1J.

Anyone who has purchased or found this used laptop should contact Niagara police at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, ext. 1009533.

To provide information anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara at 1-800-222-8477, or through their website at www.crimestoppersniagara.ca.
