Homicide detectives north of Toronto are investigating after a woman from Markham was reported missing by her family.

York Regional Police say 56-year-old Yuk-Ying Anita Mui has disappeared in “suspicious” circumstances and she has not been seen or heard from since Friday morning.

They say family members told officers Mui left her home in the area of Baycliffe Road and Warden Avenue at around 9:30 a.m. and spoke to them at 11 a.m.

Police say officers located her white 2024 Mercedes Benz vehicle in the area of Finch Avenue East and Warden Avenue in Toronto, on Friday afternoon.

Anyone with information should contact police.

The remains of another missing woman from Markham, Ying Zhang, were found in Kirkfield about 90 minutes north of Toronto after she was last seen on July 25.
