Ontario, Brampton, police, Sikh Hindu,

Peel Regional Police say they are treating the death of a 65-year-old man early Wednesday evening in Brampton as suspicious.

Emergency crews were called to the home in the Dixie Road and Howden Boulevard area around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Peel police said.

One man was found dead in the home and another, believed to be his son whom he lived with, was treated for a minor non-life-threatening injury.

The 65-year-old man was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m., police say.

The corner has yet to determine the cause of death.

Another man was taken into custody but has since been released.

“What I can tell you is there was an individual who was placed in custody that had been released unconditionally because there’s insufficient evidence to hold the individual at this time,” said a Peel Regional Police spokeswoman.

“We do not have any other suspect information at this time, however, our homicide bureau is canvassing the area to gather any evidence.”
