Hit-and-run leaves teen girl in life-threatening condition; police search for driver in Caledon

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a crash that sent a teenage girl to hospital with life-threatening injuries in Caledon.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday when the OPP says a 14-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were walking southbound on Albion Vaughan Road near Queensgate Boulevard in Bolton.
Police say the pair were hit from behind by a vehicle, which took off after the crash.
The boy suffered minor injuries in the collision while the girl sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital. Police said on Wednesday that the girl’s condition is still considered critical.
The crash led police to close Albion Vaughan Road in both directions between Queensgate Boulevard and Dovaston Gate for several hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists were on the scene.
No vehicle or suspect description has been released and investigators are urging members of the public who may have information about the crash to contact police.
