CLOSURE: Highway closed for police investigation backs up traffic in Brampton

Update: Police said the highway was reopened around 3:45 p.m. on Thursday
Traffic ground to a halt on a busy stretch of highway due to police activity in Brampton on Thursday afternoon.
The OPP says that all northbound lanes of Highway 410 have been closed at Steeles Avenue in Brampton “for police investigation purposes.”
Traffic was later closed on southbound lanes as Peel Regional Police said officers were assisting the OPP with a person in crisis.
Police said the matter was resolved safely.
Traffic could be seen backing up on Highway 410 as some drivers exited their vehicles.
Police have not said how long the closure is expected to be in place and Drivers should avoid the area and find alternate routes if possible.
