It’s official: Christmas is all over for another year.

That means it’s time to start making plans for New Year’s Eve.

And if you plan to stay in town, you’ll probably want to head to Celebration Square for a night of music, skating and fireworks.

It is, after all, Mississauga’s biggest party of the year.

This year’s NYE 2019  event–which is being presented by Pizza Pizza–boasts a commendable lineup of Canadian talent, as well as the food trucks, fireworks and other events that residents both young and old look forward to all year.

There will also be a slew of musical performances.

This year, the festivities–which will be hosted by Scott Willats–will feature mainstage performances from the all female Hip-Hop collective The Sorority, Canadian Rap royalty and JUNO Award winner K-OS, platinum-certified break out Canadian duo Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, and Mississauga’s own R&B/Hip Hop act, Anders.Attendees can start the night off with a DJ Skate from 8:00 p.mm to 9:00 p.m. with DJ TILT and NYE hypeman, Sir Lancelot.

Insauga.com will be the event’s main media sponsor.

Here’s a breakdown of the night’s schedule:

  • 9:45 pm – K-OS
  • 10:30 pm – Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine

Residents should note that some roads will be closed due to the event. You can see a map of the road closures below:

If you’re driving, note that the Civic Centre and Central Library parking garages will be closed. The underground parking garage in the nearby Living Arts Centre will be open. Attendees can also park in the 201 City Centre Drive parking lot.
