Here’s when kids will be off from school in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon

It’s the most wonderful time of the year; ask any school-aged child who is about to be freed from classes for two weeks.

The winter break for students in both the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board will commence after classes this Friday, Dec. 20 and last until classes resume on Monday, Jan. 6 of 2025.

This means almost 230,000 students will be on the loose, not to mention all the college and university students who will also be home for the holidays.

When classes resume in the new year, students will get their next break from classes on Jan. 20 (elementary students only) and then on Jan. 30 (high school students). These professional activity (PA) days apply to both school systems.

Here is a list of PA days and holidays for 2025.

Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board high school PA days

Peel District School Board elementary PA days

• Monday, Jan. 20
• Friday, Feb. 14

Remaining holidays for students in both school systems in 2025

• Family Day is Monday, Feb. 17
• Mid-winter break is from Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 14
• Good Friday Friday, April 18
• Easter Monday is Monday, April 21
• Victoria Day is Monday, May 19
• The last day of classes is Friday, June 27
