Here’s how much rain fell in Ontario on Sunday

The weekend deluge dumped a huge amount of rain in Ontario.

The expected rainfall prompted an advisory followed by a “significant rainfall” warning for Sunday from Environment and Climate Change Canada.

A Texas low brought widespread rainfall to southern Ontario and
portions of northeastern Ontario on Sunday.

Amounts ranging between 20 to 44 millimetres were expected in areas such as Mississauga, Brampton, Guelph, Oakville, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Vaughan, Niagara Falls, Oshawa, Markham, Richmond Hill, and beyond.

The heavy rainfall comes after Pearson Airport already broke a record for the highest amount of precipitation in a year. The previous record in 2008 total was 1049.6 millimetres.
