Some of the most popular movies and TV shows of the year were also trending searches in Canada in 2024.

Google recently revealled its top searches in Canada for 2024.

In the entertainment category, the search engine ranked which movies and television programs people were looking to learn more about.

In the movie category, the film that made the most money was also the most searched.

Inside Out 2 was the most-searched film of the year, according to Google. The Pixar feature follows the story of a young girl named Riley who is uprooted from her Midwest life to move to San Francisco. Five personified emotions — joy, fear, anger, disgust and sadness — administer her thoughts and actions.

The movie has earned $1,698,586,747 worldwide making it the top 2024 film and the highest-grossing animated film of all time, according to IMDb.

Netflix limited series Baby Reindeer, tops the most-searched television shows. It tells the story of a struggling comedian whose one act of kindness to a vulnerable woman sparks an obsession. The story is based on the star, Richard Gadd’s, real life experiences.

While it was a much-discussed show, Baby Reindeer doesn’t crack the top 10 most popular shows on Netflix.  Fool Me Once, however, the eighth most-watched show on Netflix did make the list.
